Impact of Global Financial Crisis Photographic Commission - World Bank

Sexual and reproductive ill-health are among the most important contributors to the burden of disease among young people. Promoting young people’s sexual and reproductive health, including the provision of sexuality education in schools, is thus a key strategy towards achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), especially MDG 3 (achieving gender parity), MDG 5 (reducing maternal mortality) and MDG 6 (combating HIV and AIDS).
